Every flight attendant story is a beautiful one. Just last June 14, 25 new Philippine Airlines cabin crew received their wings, and each of them have their own beautiful story to tell. There is one flight attendant among the batch who carries a very beautiful story which revolves around the loss of a loved one, family, love, and rising back. It is a story worth sharing that will definitely make us all shed a tear, the story of Jam Marilao.
Jam is the eldest among her 3 siblings namely Yves, Jason, and Barry. In 2017, Jam was a flight attendant of Oman Air whereas her younger brother, Yves, flew for Philippine Airlines as also a cabin crew.
All four are clingy to one another. The Marilaos are indeed a close-knit family that always long for each other's company. Sometimes, tragedy may strike families, even those who have strong bonds. In late 2017, Yves was called home by his Creator, and everyone of them were devastated by the loss. Jam was out of the country that time and upon hearing the news, she was not able to bear the pain. She felt helpless too that moment as she was not there for her younger brother who she watched over all the time. Jam returned back to the Philippines after receiving the news to be with her family. Despite the hurt and pain Jam had to deal with, she made a promise that she will regain her wings again but this time, in the Philippines. More than that was a promise to give her late brother the highest form of honor and tribute by living the legacy Yves has left behind, and that is to be no less than a cabin crew of the airline Yves was proud of.
