Philippines Air Asia just held another cabin crew recruitment event just today, September 22, at Mercure Hotel, Ortigas Center, Pasig. If you thought the one held last August at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel was enough, again, thousands of individuals who have dreams of becoming a flight attendant lined-up to take their chance to be the not more than 10% who will enter the training program of Air Asia to become cabin crew all-stars..
The line stretched through in San Miguel Avenue all the way to even Pearl Drive where all these aspiring cabin crew braced the heat and sun in business attire just to take this chance make their dreams take flight.
This clearly shows that a flight attendant or cabin crew career is one of the world's most coveted jobs. In Dubai, an Emirates open day drew 15,000 applicants just for less than a thousand to be taken in. In the United States, Delta held multiple recruitment days where more than 150,000 applied and only about a thousand got in.
This is nothing new in the Philippines as thousands of aspiring cabin crew would really troop to recruitment events regardless of the odds.
So to all our aspiring and future cabin crew, always keep the flame burning to make your dreams take flight. To all our present flight attendants and stewards, know how blessed you are to be part of the chosen few to fly.
