Passenger safety is top priority inside an aircraft, and flight attendants are instructed by the airlines and international safety standard boards to carry out procedures to ensure the safety and security of passengers, whether we like it or not. Sad to say, some passengers do not see it this way. Some even scold flight attendants for carrying out these safety procedures and instructions, as though it is against their will to follow them.
Following all instructions involving safety and security are part of the conditions of carriage every passenger agrees to when being issued a plane ticket. Hence, the fact that we have a plane ticket, that gives us no right to complain and defy our cabin crew during safety procedures. In all countries, there are laws where passengers can be criminally liable if they do not follow or they interfere with a flight attendant from carrying their duties on board the aircraft. Captains are given the authority to offload passengers who become unruly, posing as a threat to the safety and security of others.
Anyway, here are the basic safety and security procedures which you are obliged to follow (non-negotiable) that are all carried out by your flight attendants. In other words, as passengers, we have no right to scold the cabin crew for carrying out something for our own safety and welfare.
It is best to just follow them and not to scold them for carrying out something for our own personal good. There is nothing wrong of following instructions and standard operating procedures carried out by our cabin crew. They were trained and instructed by the airline to carry them out, hence, who are we to hesitate.
