Aspiring Flight Attendants, during impact interviews, only have 6-8 seconds to make a good first impression. Even without uttering a single word, the interviewer is already sizing up the candidate. Here is how to make it through the impact interview while keeping the 3Ps in mind.
Poise & Posture
Poise is a graceful, controlled way of standing, moving or performing an action.
How to develop poise:
Posture is when we balance our weight using both legs.
When standing, one should keep his/her CHEST out and SHOULDERS back, EARS parallel to shoulders. Weight equally distributed on both LEGS.
Good posture communicates smartness, confidence and optimism.
Personal Grooming & Make up
Your hair can make or break your positive image.
Men’s hair should NOT cover the ears, touch the eyebrows and the back collar. Avoid skin head style with beard.
Ladies’ hair should NOT cover the face and touch the eyebrows. Also avoid light colored hair. Facial hair should be waxed.
Beauty Make up is ideal for Flight Attendants. It is between Day and Evening Make up. It requires more color than the Day Make up. The eyes are emphasized by 3 shades of eyeshadow (dark, medium & light), mascara and eyeliner. Avoid using false eyelashes as it transcends to Evening Make Up.
Lipsticks should be of the same shade as your pink or red nail polish.
Professional Detailing with a Hint of Color
Men should use the right fit of charcoal grey, black or navy blue suit, with matching dress pants. Add a hint of color by choosing a colored neck tie or long- sleeved cotton shirt that complements the suit and skin tone.
Shoes should be polished, plain dark colored leather and should match the belt.
Socks should be dark colored that matches the suit and mid-calf length.
Ladies should use the right fit of charcoal grey, black or navy blue suit with matching below- the- knee skirt. Add a hint of color by choosing a bright colored long- sleeved cotton shirt or collard blouse that complements the suit and skin tone.
Stockings must be matte sheer in neutral color.
Use pearl earrings as it brightens up the face.
Polished, closed 3 inches high heels should be plain with stable heels. Avoid stilettos.
Oh...lastly, please think of happy thoughts before entering the room for your turn. Your eyes will smile with your lips!
