This May 31, we are celebrating International Cabin Crew Day 2018, a day where we recognize the efforts and dedication of our flight attendants and stewards in being the safety professionals in the air. We also call it world cabin crew appreciation day, where all passengers could show some appreciation to their hardworking cabin crew.
There is exactly no information on how the date May 31 was chosen but our wild guess here is because the feast day of St. Bona of Pisa is on May 29. They say, St. Bona is the patron saint of flight attendants. She is said to come from the third order of Augustinian nuns who helped pilgrims.
Cabin crew day was first celebrated in 2015 in just a handful of countries. Now, it is going global! To know more about the history of the flight attendants, read it here.
So how do we celebrate it?
Well the best and most simplest way is to thank your flight attendants for being ready to put their lives on the line to save yours incase of an emergency. More than a job, being a flight attendant is a calling. If you are flying, a simple "thank you and happy cabin crew day" to them with a smile will definitely make them feel good.
Also, you may take a picture with your flight attendants and send them to us. We will definitely post it. The hashtag to be used is #flightattendantday
Advance Happy Flight Attendants Day everyone!
