They lined-up under the heat of the sun last Saturday to take a shot to become an Air Asia all-star cabin crew held at the Mercure Hotel, Ortigas Center! The line went as long as about 2kms going from San Miguel Ave to Pearl Drive with about 1,300 cabin crew aspirants. After everything, only 31 made it in to undergo the next steps of the recruitment process before they go through training and finally receive their wings. ![]() Look at those numbers, that means only 2.3% made it in, and that's just part of the recruitment process, training is not yet included. That 2.3% is even lower than those applicants who get accepted in the country's top graduate schools! Among the 1,300 who lined-up is a 19-year old woman who is still in college, and she was part of the lucky 31 who made it in! This just shows how hard it is to become a cabin crew and despite the numbers, this is still one of the most coveted jobs the world has ever seen! So every time you see a flight attendant, know that the journey they endured to become one is definitely only for a chosen special few. To all the 31 future Air Asia cabin crew, good luck on the next step! Once you are cleared for training do well, study hard, and give it your best! Earn your wings, and we hope to fly with you soon! And to those who were not able to make it, just keep holding on to your dreams and aspirations. Learn from every mistake, stand-up after every fall. If you believe that this is for you, do not stop and continue to pursue your dreams. One day, you too will soon earn your wings, and one day, you too will share something like "I am proud to have endured 20 rejections in order to be a flight attendant today." Always remember that just like the moon and sun, we all have our own time to shine!
