Written by Cebu Pacific batch 149
Last September 17, we received our wings and certificates as official cabin crew of Cebu Pacific. Our graduation moment was indeed surreal, our childhood dreams unfolding. We once aspired to be a cabin crew and now, here we are, officially one. Our journey though was never an easy one and this is what we want to share to everyone, our story as Cebu Pacific batch 149.
On our first day, Ms. Titit and the other managers warned the batch that our lives will completely turn upside down, but they said that they think our batch will be a great one after just hearing us introduce ourselves one by one. Representatives of the batch joined the #InMyFeelings challenge on the FIRST WEEK of training.
Survival swimming - one of us was crying out of fear, but she conquered it and EVERYONE SURVIVED! During one of our exams, 16 of us FAILED and one of the two lifelines was extinguished. One of us failed and was cut off right then and there. That’s when we all realized that this is really serious. It’s not enough to have a pretty face. We had to really give maximum effort, and sacrifice sleep and social lives, if we really wanted this.
Two of our batchmates failed again during our Emergency Procedures exam. We were down to 27. One of us got sick and had to leave the training. We were all shocked. We realized that it’s not enough that we know the modules. We also had to take extra care of our health especially when we’re in the line.
We finished almost all the LMS exams and survived the EPs. But it didn’t end there. We all added the new most terrifying word on our vocabularies - REVALIDA. We were shaken up before and during our revalidas but fortunately, with the help of Mommy Chut and Daddy Anton, and all the other supervisers, Miss Jeejee, Sir Brad, Miss Jem, etc, we all did it!
Next up, supervised line experience (SLE) and check rides. The first SLE was the most difficult one. We had to learn and move quickly, so as not to disrupt all the Cabin Crew in their specific duties, while combating Motion Sickness and looking fresh and presentable for our guests. Everything went smoothly from then on. The A321 CC, and 330 SLE and CC were a little easier as we all knew what to expect.
PWD training was one of the most memorable of all. It was one of the most heart warming modules in our lives.
Grad practice!! Everyone was drained and Stressed but because everyone contributed and helped in their own little ways, our graduation became very successful and fun!
It was indeed a wonderful journey from us as rookies to certified cabin crew! Our graduation marked a new chapter in our lives, a chapter where our dreams and reality finally met, and a chapter where we will soon finally say "flying with you" to every Juan!
