I just graduated last September 19, 2017 as a Qatar Airways cabin crew and until now, I still can't believe that I am here. I got used to a simple life with mama, papa, my nephews and nieces doing charity works in the barangay. I never considered to be a flight attentand as my sister is one already. I am not as smart and pretty as my sister. We are always being compared and I admit that she's really smart. So it's a big no no for me to even try to be a flight attendant.
We are both registered nurses at the Province of La Union in the Philippines. She's a Clinical Instructor for 7 years , staff Nurse for 4 years at no flying experience. First time siya mag try.
Nag try siya sa Qatar Airways sa Manila open day 2 years ago. First time nag attend ng open day at clueless Kami nina Mama at Papa hanggang may final call na. Iyak siya ng iyak at natanggap sya. God is good! Out of thousands of applicants, 7 lang silang nakuha at umalis. Ganun ka intense because every stage nag tatanggal talaga sila.
My has been flying for two years. She got promoted in 1 year 7 months as F1 and she received a S.E.E. award or SIGNIFICANTLY EXCEEDED EXPECTATION. She was one of the TOP 13 and only the Filipina who received a SEE during her annual performance review out of 10 thousand Crew.
So eto na yung turne, nag cut contract ako sa hospital. Kinukuha ako ni ate every 6 months para mag apply dito sa Doha as a nurse at minsan bakasyon para may kasama sya, naubos ko na yata yung staff ticket niya kakabalik ko hehe . One day, she told me 'gusto mo i-try mag apply attend ka ng open day?' Sabi ko 'ate ayoko, ayoko kasi di ako katulad mo'. Dinodown ko yung sarili ko kasi alam kong hindi ko kaya yung pinag daanan nya noon. Pinush nadin ako nina mama at papa. Pumunta ako ng Manila Open Day. Hindi alam ng parents ko. Kaya ko ginawa to dahil may iilang mga taong naniniwala sakin na kaya ko!
Kaya ko pala! After 2 rejections eto na! Months of process, trainings, studying, lectures and exams and all the hard works, (swear nakakaiyak sa pagod at puyat 3-4 hours of sleep for two months, muntik ko ng sinukuan. Finally it’s the day! It’s time to embrace the chaos! Another adventure is about to start I’m feeling emotional but at the same time, I’m so excited and motivated to get into this brand new success. I can’t wait to start working and traveling all around the world!
My sister attended my Wings Day, gusto kong umiyak sa saya kasi ako lang yung may family member na andun kasi nagkataon off pa ni ate. I'm so blessed super thankful ako lagi Kay Papa God sa mga nangyayari samin.
Mama and Papa, thank you for believing in me because without you, I wouldn't have had the confidence to go out and do my best to make you proud. Dalawa na po kaming Flight Attendant nyo.
We hardly see each other here in Doha because our schedule doesn't meet but finally, I saw her in Colombo! She arrived earlier, I arrrived the next day. Qatar Airways doesn't allow sisters to fly together and operate the same flight but still, thanks to rostering! I have always considered myself very lucky and so blessed that we are so close and do everything together. Thank you for everything ate!
To Our Almighty God who always keep His promises, thank you for everything. I am nothing without You. I just prayed for this dream to become a reality but look now, You gave me more than I asked for. This is all for your greater glory Lord!
Jeremiah 29:11: 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'
